Tonight was formal night on the ship. We didn't bring anything super formal in our luggage, but on most cruise lines these days (including Princess) the dining room doesn't have a dress code forcing you to wear certain things on formal night. Smart casual or resort casual are the terms they like to use to described what you need to wear. What that means and what is actually enforced are two different things. Most lines will ask that men have a collared shirt, pants and shoes that aren't flip flops. I have seen some people in other attire and it seems to go unenforced in most cases. It didn't matter for us this night since we decided to no go to the main dining room and instead ate at a speciality dining establishment called Ocean Terrace. They had a special Treasure Chest which was an assortment of sushi and seafood for only $10 if you also ordered a bottle of wine. They had a nice rose from Charles and Charles which we had before on another Princess cruise so we took them up on the offer.

Staring trom the top right . . .
Crab Salad - This was some surprisingly large pieces of crabmeat over crunchy romaine with a light vinegrate.
Tuna Poke - My favorite dish, Roughly cut tuna with avocado. Of all the dishes, you could really taste the freshness of the tuna.
Oyster Shooters - One was with tequila and the other a bloody mary. Both had way to much booze so you couldn't taste the briney oyster.
Sashimi - Tuna, Yelllowtail and salmon. Salmon was the best of the three. Seemed really fresh.
Nigiri - Same three fish jist served on rice. Salmon still the best of the three.
I thought this was a terrific value for only $10 - even if you paid $20 for it.
We had to Cabo San Lucas today (docking in about 90 minutes). Since the ship is docking overnight, we booked a hotel room. More on that stay in my next blog entry.
