One of the signature features of Carnival ships is the large variety of choices for dining. On most of their ships they have an Italian speciality restaurant that charges $15/person. For lunch that same restaurant is open with a more limited menu, but still delicious food and it is included.in your cruise fare. Your are provided a menu when you enter which you fill out.
You leave this at your table and your server takes it back to the kitchen.
We tried a couple of different sauces. The white clam had some whole clams in a delicious garlicy and buttery sauce. I added Italian sausage, mushrooms and zucchini to the farfelle pasta.
Also tried the Alfredo sauce with farfelle and shrimp.
My favorite item was the meat lasagna. I was expecting a decent lasagna but was so impressed.
I thought it would be ground beef and perhaps some veggies. Instead the delicate layers of pasta had some delicious braised short ribs along with a savory, chunky sauce. It was better then the vegetable lasagna I had in the dining room the first night. Surprisingly they don't serve lasagna in the dinner menu so this is a unique offering you can only get at the complimentary lunch.
