We have a two hour layover in JFK. What's there to do? With select American Express cards, you can access the Centurion Lounge. These are lounges found at many major airports around the world. Some lounges offer complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food but will have some items that are extra charge, such as higher end liquor and wine. This one in JFK is completely complimentary to everyone who can access it. Grabbed a quick lunch and a local beer from Bronx Brewery called A Year of Hazy.
The standout was the watercress salad. Peppery arugula, blue cheese, walnuts and pomegranate seeds tossed in a slightly sweet vinegrette. So good and fresh tasting.
The grilled chicken was moist and flavorful. I ha so a side of pasta which was in a slightly garlcaly sauce.
The mushroom soup was all about the mushroom. It could have been a little more pureed, but had good beefy flavor.
