QUICK BITE: England Fish and Chips

When in England, have the fish and chips!!

Don't be afraid of restaurants that are in older strip malls. This place had one of the best pieces of fried fish I have ever had. A thick plank of white fish that had a thin, tempura-like crispy batter. Flaky, fresh tasting fish. It had been lightly salted fresh out the fryer and needed no additional seasoning. Although I did try a little malt vinegar to be traditional.

This was a combo.plattsr for less than $10 USD..

It also included two super.crispy fried chickem wings, chips and an egg roll. The wings were crispy, hot and delicious. The egg roll was freshly made and had crispy cabbage and some pork. The chips were served hot and crispy with a bit of salt. Some of the best I have had. And we also tried the onion rings. Whole rings in a slightly thicker batter than the fish. Still crispy and tasty.

Often times when a place serves you greasy fried.food it is either because the oil is not hot enough or they don't change it often enough. Not the case here. No greasy fingers after eating these delicious morsels. There was a donut shop next door that seemed to be connected so I am curious if the donuts are as good. Maybe I will have to try them. For science.

Tomorrow we start the long path home. It will take fifteen nights to reach Fort Lauderdale. More details on that forthcoming.
